Peggy Jean (Vestal) Whisnant

Mrs. Peggy Jean Vestal Whisnant, 78, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1942 in High Point to the late Paul Vestal and Lou Ader Simmons. She worked many years at Thomasville Furniture Company Plant B and was a member of Unity UMC in Thomasville. Peggy enjoyed reading and shopping on QVC and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Marklan “Mark” Whisnant; son-in-law, Donald Joseph Brinkle, Jr.; three brothers, Clinton Vestal, Alonzo Vestal, and Donald Wayne Vestal; and three brother-in-laws, Bill Briggs, Charles Thompson, and Terry Yates.

Surviving is her daughter, Sharon Brinkle of the home; three grandchildren, Christopher Alan Whisnant, Donald Joseph Brinkle, III (Amber), and Amanda Rene Brinkle (Jason); three great-grandchildren, Hailie Brinkle, Hannah Brinkle, and Autumn Brinkle; three sisters, Hazel Briggs of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Thompson of Richmond, VA, and Judy Yates of Greensboro; one brother, James Edward Vestal (Joyce) of Las Vegas, NV; and brother-in-law, James (David) Whisnant of SC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Faith Community Chapel with Rev. John Heath and Rev. Joseph Brinkle, III officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 PM  at the church. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum in High Point. Memorials may be directed to Faith Community Chapel, 345 Faith Chapel Road, Thomasville, NC 27360.
