Penny Manning Everhart, age 62, of Lexington NC has went home peacefully to be with the Lord on January 10, 2026, at her favorite place, the beach with her sister.
Penny was born on May 13, 1963 in Davidson County to the late James Andrew Manning of Wallburg, NC and late Karen Craver Jackson of Murrells Inlet SC. She will reunite with her late husband Jeffery Wayne Everhart and her lifelong friend of many years Wayne William Bragg.
Penny dedicated herself for 24 years to driving a school bus for Davidson County Schools, 18 years substitute teaching and 8 years at the Family Dollar in Welcome NC. She also loved to spend her summers by the pool in Myrtle Beach with her sister. Penny attended Promise Baptist Church in Thomasville NC.
Left to cherish her memories is her sister Jamie Callahan-Simpson of Murrells Inlet SC, her two sons Joshua Everhart and Joseph Everhart of Lexington NC, her two special daughters; Fonda Warren, Krista Whitman (Pugsley) both of Lexington. Penny was the best grandma to her 5 grandchildren Kaytlin Everhart, Joselyn Everhart (Hayden), Loagyn Everhart, Colton Everhart and Eli Whitman and her “adopted” grandson Cory Rivera. She loved being a Gigi to Ryder Rivera and Remington Grace. She also loved being Auntie P to her niece Ralee Callahan and Caleb Ayers both of Lexington. Penny will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her.
Viewing will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home located at 122 W. Main St, Thomasville NC 27360. Graveside Service will be on Friday, January 16, 2026 starting at 11am located at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery located at 823 Ridge Rd, Lexington NC 27295 with Preacher David Hedrick.
