Mrs. Phyllis Ann Smith Driggers, 69, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on August 3, 1951 in Burke County, NC to Emanuel Augustus Smith and Ruth Elizabeth Walker Smith. She worked in the textile industry and met her husband, Michael at Design Concepts, where she worked in the sewing department. She was a loving wife, loved gardening, her flowers, cooking Sunday dinners, and her Lord, Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Lee Smith and Lloyd James Smith; and her sisters, Diane Finney, Shelby Smith, and Nancy Goforth.
On Good Friday, April 13, 1990, she married Michael Douglas Driggers, who survives of the home; also surviving is her son, David Scott Brower and wife Angela “Sissy” of Sophia; her step-daughter, Angela Dawn Driggers of Archdale; brothers, Charles Smith and Larry Smith and wife Linda, all of Thomasville; sister, Joyce Grimstead and husband Charlie of Thomasville; grandchildren, Noah Brower, Faith Brower, and Carter Brett Rush; her beloved doggies, Sparky and Banjo; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. James Shetley officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
