Rachel "June" (Tucker) Edwards

Rachel “June” Tucker Edwards, 87, a resident of Lexington, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehab in Thomasville. She was born on June 10, 1939 in Stokesdale, NC to her parents, the late William Tucker and Lennis Gatewood Tucker.

June loved the Lord and her family dearly. She also enjoyed gospel music, cooking for her family, cutting hair for friends and neighbors, and overall was a person her loved ones and friends could turn to, especially for a laugh.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Ottis Edwards; and her daughter, Karen McWilliams.

Surviving is her daughter, Tracy Gagner and husband Robert; her son, Kenneth Mecum; four grandchildren, Amber Ayers, Krista Perry, Christopher Mecum, and Crystal McBride; six great-grandchildren, Siara McBride; Mackenzie Ayers, Hunter Kiger, Evan Ayers, Ethan Kiger, and River Perry; and several very special nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will love and cherish her forever.

A memorial service will be held the weekend of July 4th, 2026 at her granddaughter, Amber Ayers home in Lexington. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com
