Mr. Ralph “Buddy” Mitchell Everhart, 90, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born on January 10, 1936 in Davidson County to the late Edith Wilson Everhart and Ralph Guy Everhart. He graduated from Pilot High School in Thomasville and then served three years in the Army National Guard. Buddy worked at North State Telephone Company, retiring at the age of 59 after several years of service. In retirement, some of his favorite hobbies were playing cards with his buddies and fishing with his son. In June of 1959, he married Doris Truelove Everhart, who preceded him in death in 2023.

Surviving is his son, Rodney Everhart of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Stacey Matthews (Stewart) of Denton and Holly Young (Thomas) of Goldsboro; four great-grandchildren, Sam Matthews, Charlie Matthews, TJ Young, and Elizabeth Young; his sister, Shelby Dorsett of Thomasville; two sister-in-laws, Peggy Nuckles (Steve) and Pat Harris; one brother-in-law, Thomas Truelove; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Snowman; and several cats.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Josh Moses officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville.
