Mrs. Ramona “Jean” Pope Hulin, 76, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro. She was born on March 18, 1946 in High Point to the late Joe C. Pope, Sr. and Rosa Bell Beeson. Jean was part of the first graduating class of East Davidson High School and was part of the Beta Club. She worked many years at Thomasville Furniture Industries. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, doing yardwork, and taking on any type of puzzles. Jean lived a simple life and was always a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her “special parents”, Flora and Furman Leonard; two brothers, Joe Pope, Jr. and Darrell Pope; and one sister, Jackie Lee.
Surviving are her four daughters, Aleta Kidd (Mark) of Lexington, Paula Motley (Jay) of Lexington, Holly Gray (Jerry) of Asheboro, and Melanie Hulin of the home; one brother, Billy Pope (Donna) of Thomasville; two sisters, Joan Leonard and Joyce Cochran, both of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Brenden, Jennifer, Ashley (Brad), Brock, Gabby, and Brayden; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 12:00 PM noon at the Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Jean will remain at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until one hour prior to the time of service for anyone to come pay their respects.
