Mr. Raymond Rudolph Isom, Sr, 90, a resident of High Point, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point. He was born on July 4, 1936 in Galax, Virginia to his parents, the late Mae Catron Isom and Lonnie Creed Isom. Raymond worked several years in the textiles industry and was a faithful member of Thomasville Church of God. Outside of work, he was very active in his daily life and church life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Grubb Isom; his son, Michael Leroy Isom; and nine siblings.
Surviving are his two daughters, Lisa Woods and Karen Motsinger and husband Thomas; two sons, Raymond “Ray” Isom, Jr and Gregory Isom and wife Shannon; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Thomasville Church of God with Rev. C. Alan Greene officiating. The family will greet friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point.
