Raymond "Ray" Allen Whichard

Raymond Allen Whichard passed away on January 13, 2025. Ray was born on January 25, 1931 in Thomasville, NC. He was the last remaining of his 7 siblings who preceded him in death, as well as his parents, Thomas Joshua Whichard and Hattie Isabel Brinkley Whichard.

Ray served in the Air Force during the Korean War, later having a life-long career with Texaco Company. He approached his career with skill, passion, and did the same with his hobbies. Ray enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge, gambling, fishing, traveling internationally and taking cruises. Ray had a witty sense of humor and cared deeply for family and friends, spending his senior years at John Knox Village in Weslaco, Texas. His family appreciated the excellent, loving care he received over the past several years in the Health Care unit of John Knox.

A Celebration of Life for Ray will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel 122 West Main Street, Thomasville, NC, with Rev. Steve Manley officiating.  Interment of cremains will follow the service at Calvary UCC 1410 Lexington Avenue, Thomasville, NC, with Military Honors.
