Raynell (Mize) Allen Obituary

Raynell Mize Allen, 92, of Trinity went home to be with Jesus Monday, August 3, 2026 at Graybrier Nursing and Retirement Center in Trinity.


Raynell was born February 20, 1934 daughter to the late William Henry Mize and Ora Foster Mize in Durham. For many years, she served the Thomasville community as a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Thomasville Hospital and also Liberty Wood Nursing Home. In addition to her professional life, she raised and support her three children and provided a loving home. In her later years, she attended West Field Baptist Church in Trinty and was a believer in Christ.


In addition to her parents, Raynell was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ray Allen; son-in-law, Roger Burnett; brother, Jimmy Barbour; sister, Catherine Sox.


Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bobbie Burnett of Thomasville, Gary W. Everhart, Sr. (Sandra) of Trinity, Bobby Ray Everhart, Jr. (Jean) of Thomasville; brothers, Doug and Mike Barbour; sister-in-law, Jan Barbour; brother-in-law, Sonny Sox; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.


A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 4:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel with Pastor Allen Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Church in Thomasville. The family will greet friends the hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calvary Church Cemetery Fund, 1410 Lexington Ave, Thomasville, NC 27360.
