Rebecca Jane Carter, 49, of Thomasville, North Carolina, formerly of Virginia, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. Rebecca was born on February 21, 1977, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Dencil Carter and Drema Louise Widener Carter. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others through her work in patient care at local hospitals. Rebecca was known for her compassionate spirit, her love of reading, and the joy she found in spending time with her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, Dencil Carter.

Rebecca leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, including her five children, Constance Dunbar, Makenzie Dunbar, Desiree Carter, Jazmine Dunbar, and Clarence Swain; her mother, Drema Louise Widner Carter; her brother, Michael Carter; her sisters, Tina Goad and Rachel Carter; and many beloved grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
