Rev. David Price, 74, of Thomasville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Alderwood of Davidson County. David was born on February 13, 1952, in King County, Washington, to the late Lattie Price and Gracie Rathbone Price. He loved the Lord with all his heart and faithfully served as pastor of Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church and Kennedy Road Freewill Baptist Church over the years. He was also a devoted member of Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church, a congregation he dearly loved. David spent many years working in the furniture industry, first with Myrtle Desk Company and later with Hayworth Role Panel. He enjoyed visiting flea markets, spending time with his family, and sharing fellowship with others. His kindness, faith, and love for his family and church will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Price, Aline Bayles, Zora Massey, and Dora Ricker; and his brothers, Vester “Doc” Price, Charlie Price, Clifford Price, Ance Price, Vinson Price, Glen Price, and Paul Price.
On December 10, 1977, David married the love of his life, Vickie Lynn Loman Price, who survives him. Also left to cherish his memory are his son, James Price and wife, Tinah, of Asheboro; his brother, John Price and wife, Doreen, of Marshall, North Carolina; his sisters, Elvia Inman of Trinity and Jerline Marburger of Mars Hill; and his three beloved grandchildren, Criss, Khyre, and Aniyah. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM, in Gospel Light Independent Freewill Baptist Church, 4014 Ball Park Road Thomasville, NC 27360, with Rev. James Shetley and Rev. Steven Willis officiating. The interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville, NC. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, NC.
