The Reverend George Robert Beavers, First Sergeant, USMC (Ret.), age 89, of Trinity, entered his heavenly reward after a life devoted to faith, family, and service on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born on November 29, 1935, in Sheridan, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Archie Theodore Beavers and Rosa Alice Morris Beavers. George was preceded in death by seven brothers, who surely welcomed him home.
On December 19, 1958, George married the love of his life, Tawana Ann DeLoach Beavers, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of unwavering devotion, partnership, and love. Their marriage was a testament of faith, commitment, and the beauty of life built side by side.
George proudly served his country as a 22-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, retiring with distinguished rank. His dedication took him around the world, where he faithfully upheld the values he held dear – God and country. After his military retirement, he continued his calling as an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, carrying the Gospel with humility, conviction, and compassion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tawana Ann; and their children; Tawana Jean Beavers of the home, Robert Beavers (Diane) of San Antonio, TX, and Archie Beavers (Angela) of Jacksonville, IL.
George cherished his role as “Pawpaw” and leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren, who loved him deeply: Lawana Albertson (Tim Myers) of Lexington, NC, Cindy Anderson of Trinity, NC, Heather Beavers of San Antonio, TX, Jared Beavers (Shelly) of Schertz, TX, Jon Beavers (Ashley) of Green Bay, WI, Daniel Beavers (Emma) of Saint Paul, MN, Micah Beavers of Las Vegas, NV, Charity Beavers (Tyler Pool) of Jacksonville, IL, Hannah Beavers of Stockton, CA, and Matthias Beavers of Jacksonville, IL.
He also leaves behind great-grandchildren; Bailey, Carson, Mikayla, Kylie, Taylor, Axton, Halston, Madden, Calvin, and Charlotte; and great-great grandchildren, Lila, Ava, and Ronnie Jae – each one a continuation of his enduring love. He is also survived by the siblings, who remained dear to him; Donald E. Beavers of Hot Springs, AR, Viola B. Richards of Cabot, AR, Margaret Beavers of Heber Springs, AR, Morris W. Beavers (Beckie) of Sumter, SC; and his sister-in-law, Diane Beavers of Cabot, AR, widow of his late brother, Freddie.
George’s life was marked by strength, integrity, faith, and service. He believed in working hard, loving deeply, and living with purpose. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud Marine, a faithful minister, and the honored patriarch of a family who will forever carry his legacy forward. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Trindale Baptist Church, 10407 Archdale Rd. Trinity, NC 27370. A committal service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery Columbarium with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trindale Baptist Church, 10407 Archdale Rd. Trinity, NC 27370 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 28105.
