Rex "Grumps" Anthony Evans

Mr. Rex Anthony “Grumps” Evans, 65, born September 16, 1955, entered into heavenly rest on Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was born in Limestone County, AL. Rex was a Past Master of Lawrenceville Lodge #131, Lawrenceville, GA.  He is also a Past Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of North Carolina. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Evans.  He is survived by his wife, Karen “Kay” Evans; daughter, Carra Wright of Birmingham, AL; stepdaughter, Casey (Sean) Caldwell of Winder, GA; stepson, Corey (Nataly) Higgins of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Conner Carroll, Clay Carroll, Savannah Higgins, Cannon Carroll, and Austin Higgins.  Also surviving are his mother, Alice Evans of Athens, AL; siblings, Susan (Bobby) Gaines of Athens, AL, Sara (Tommy) Ray of Huntsville, AL, and Chris (Jessica) Evans of Athens, AL; sister and brother-in-laws, Kim and Bill Jeffers, Keith and Melodie Conner, all of Loganville, GA; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Steve Monroe and Rev. Jamie Fonville officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
