Rhonda Kennedy Ashburn, 66, of Thomasville passed away July 11, 2026 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Rhonda was born March 17, 1960, the daughter of the late Dalton Alfred Kennedy and Betty Jo Andrews Greene of Davidson County. She was a long-time biscuit maker for Hardee’s in Thomasville. Known for those fluffy biscuits, she had a career spanning over 30 years at the same restaurant. Rhonda was a loving mother, exceptional cook, doggie mom, and most of all she loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Ashburn, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her three loving children, Kenneth Wayne Ashburn, Jr. (Candy) of Sophia, Holly Ashburn, and Jeremy Ashburn both of Thomasville; a special grandson, Cameron Phillips; siblings, Kevin Kennedy (Terri), Darrell Kennedy (Patricia), Chris Kennedy; grandchildren, Cory Lucas Ashburn, Skylar Nathanial Ashburn, Jasmine Renee Ashburn, Summer Elexus Ashburn, Harmony Marie Ashburn, Grace Georgia-Mae Ashburn; great-grandchildren, Michael Rosman Russell, William Lucas Ashburn, Nova Marie Snyder, Colsen Gray Snyder, Calliope Lynn Snyder.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. The family will greet friends following the memorial service in the Chapel.
