Richard Hartman, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Richard Perry Hartman, Sr. age 92, of the Wallburg Community passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025 after a period of declining health.  He was born on September 29, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Kearn and Alma Steelman Hartman.  Richard was a retired machine operator with Stroh’s Brewery and a proud United States Navy Veteran. He had an avid love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles both riding a showing them.  Richard was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Eldridge, and a brother, Freddie Hartman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wilson Hartman of the home; three sons, Richard “Ricky” Hartman, Jr. of the home, Stephen Hartman (Barbara) of Lexington, and Mitch Hartman (Dee) of Winston-Salem; brother, Harold Hartman (Betty) of King; grandchild, Spencer Hartman; special niece, Cheryl Eldridge; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roy Cantrell officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Davidson County Military Honor Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
