Obituary

Mr. Richard James Hege, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born on April 7, 1946 to the late Wiley and Beatrice Hege.  Richard was a member of Waughtown Baptist Church and worked most of his life as a die and tool maker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Toni S. Hege; step-daughter, Lori B. Moeller; two half-brothers, Wade Keeton and Wiley E. Hege, Jr.; and half-sister, Edith Lehman.

Richard is survived by a step-son, Kenneth Bullard and wife Liz of Winston-Salem; step-daughter, Seina Johnson and husband Bill of Winston-Salem; brother, George Hege; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with Rev. Eddie Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Novant Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Waughtown Baptist Church, 1538 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
