Richard Norris (Bill) Hummel

Mr. Richard (Bill) Norris Hummel, 78, a resident of Overcreek Ln. passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington.  He was born on November 19, 1943 in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, NC to Richard Malcolm Hummel and Lucille Miller Hummel.  He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He worked for Myrtle Desk and later retired from Miller Desk.

On December 21, 1985, he married Martha Crews Myers, who survives of the home; also surviving are his children, Marlena Kennedy and husband Scott, Jason Hummel, Josh Hummel and wife Adidah, and Joey Hummel; step-children, Tom Jollay and wife Tammy, Paul Jollay, and Eric Albright and wife Paige; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Carl Sidney Brown; and uncle, Bernie Miller and wife Ruth.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Ben Webb officiating.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
