Ricky Ray Beck

Mr. Ricky Ray Beck, 68, of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.  He was born on February 16, 1958 in Davidson County, NC to Jimmy Ray Beck and Beulah Mae Carver Beck.  He owned and operated Beck Automotive in Thomasville and later worked for Central Carolina Trucks in Kernersville.  Ricky loved fishing, going to the beach, and drag racing, where he did at Piedmont Dragway, Farmington Dragway, and Rockingham Dragway.  He was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Christopher James Beck, Jimmy Darrell Beck, and Kenneth Beck; and his loyal companion, Bubba.

On February 14, 1982, he married Karen Lynne Whitman, who survives of the home; also surviving is his daughter, Felicia Beck Brinkle and husband Mark of Thomasville; his brothers, Randy Beck and wife Wendy and Andy Williams all of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Aiden Brinkle and Paisley Brinkle; his brothers-in-law, William Whitman, Jr., Terry Whitman and wife Nancy, and Tony Whitman and wife Karen; his sister-in-law, Melodie Beck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM.  Ricky’s wishes were to be cremated and that everyone come in casual dress for his services.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
