Robert Leon Emmons

Robert Leon Emmons, 81, of Thomasville went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, June 6, 2026 at his residence.

Robert was born April 14, 1945 to the late Robert Thomas Emmons and Elizabeth Loflin Emmons of Davidson County. He worked for many years in the furniture industry and was also a truck driver. Robert attended Christian Life Freewill Baptist Church in Thomasville. He valued time with his loved ones and joyfully anticipated holiday gathering every year. Robert enjoyed fishing, spending time with his wife, and watching “Gun Smoke”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, James Emmons.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty Emmons of the home; two nieces, Sherri Copper and Denise Gurley; the children of his wife, Marcia Kiger, Johnny Williams, Richard Williams, Brian Williams, Annabelle Williams; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of Betty; sister-in-law, Brenda Emmons; extended family and his church family. Although Robert never had children of his own, there were several he considered his by choice.

A lie in repose will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville from 2:30 to 5:30 PM for public viewing. A graveside service will follow on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Brown officiating.
