Robert Lee (Sr.) Harris

Mr. Robert Lee Harris, Sr., 84, died on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Maple Leaf Health Care in Statesville.  He was born on July 2, 1936 in Alamance County, NC to Cleveland Harris and Frances Tickle Harris.  He was a US Marine Corp veteran and worked in the construction industry.  He was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Mangum Harris on November 18, 2010 and his daughter, Frances Christine Harris.

Surviving is his daughter, Deborah Bentz and husband Bruce of Fort Bragg, CA; son, Robert Lee Harris, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; two brothers, Billy Joe Harris and wife Daisey of Greensboro, NC and Donald Harris of TX; one grandson, Gregory Michael Bentz of Mather, CA; and two great-grandsons, Cooper Bentz and Marshall Bentz of Mather, CA.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  Mr. Harris will lie in state at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 for members of the community to pay their respects.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
