Robert Satow Obituary

Mr. Robert Glenn ‘Bob’ Satow passed away at home on August 12, 2020.  He was born on June 29, 1942 in Canton, Ohio to the late Howard J. Satow and Avanell Gregory Satow.  Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.  Bob was president of Triad Aeromodelers Inc. (radio controlled air planes) for 25 years with many close friends.  He dearly loved animals and had many precious pets throughout his life. Bob was an avid gardener and shared the bounty with family and friends.  He took pride in maintaining his home and welcoming others to visit.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Helen Froelich Satow; two sons, Heath Satow (Angel Castillo), and Matthew Kent Satow (Nicky Satow); three grandchildren, Joshua Matthew Satow, Connor Stephen Demers, and Arrianna Nicole Demers; sister, Lynn McFadden (Bill); brother Donald Satow (Carol); step-brother, Glen Froelich, Karl Froelich, and Larry Froelich; step-sister, Karen Ilizarbe; numerous nieces and nephews; dog Shiloh and cat Ginger.

A memorial service held by the family and by the members of the T.A.I. will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the R.G. Satow Flying Field with the Rev. Elizabeth Forrest officiating.  All attendees are encouraged to participate with tributes to Bob.  The service will conclude with the scattering of cremains onto the field and all are invited for a Hotdog dinner provided by the TIA club.  Social distancing and the wearing of mask as recommended by the AMA and the NC Dept of Health will be recognized for all activities.  Please bring portable chairs for additional seating.  [Field location is at the end of Lee Smith Road in Lexington, approximately one mile beyond the Police Training Center at 415 Lee Smith Road.  Travel Hwy109 South to Bus. 85 South (approx. 7.8 miles); take a left turn off of Bus. 85, and bear right on E. Park Avenue (continue for 1/10 of a mile), then turn left on to Lee Smith Rd.]  A sincere thank you to all of his family, friends, Novant medical staff, and Trellis Supportive Care who helped care for Bob in his final days.
