Mr. Robert (Bobby) Yokely Johnson, of Archdale, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on May 27, 1932 in Guilford County, NC to the late Sadie Johnson Alexander and Clyde R. Alexander. He served 2 years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Myrtle Desk in High Point after 43 years. He was a member of Pilot View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Kinney Johnson on December 3, 2012; and a sister, Ronnie Atkinson in 2016.
Surviving are his son, Jeff Johnson and wife Judy of Thomasville; his daughter, Lisa Farmer and husband Rick of Trinity; grandson, Jason Farmer and wife Natalie and their children, Noah and Tenley of Louisburg; granddaughter, Ashley Farmer Cribbs and husband Thomas and their son, Luke of Thomasville; step-grandson, Brandon Murphy and his son, Caleb and Brandon’s fiancée Amy and her children, Connor and Grace of Thomasville; his sister, Glenda Ketchie of Yadkinville; and his brother, Bill Alexander of Shallotte.
A private family graveside service will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Mr. Johnson will lie in state at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM for members of the community to pay their respects.
