Mr. Robert Herman Cox, 79, a resident of Lake Drive, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 4, 1942 in Elkin, NC to Robert Garvie Cox and Flora Ellen Watson Cox. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era from 1966-1969. He owned and operated Robert Cox Auto Repair in High Point.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ann Childress Cox on March 1, 1997, whom he married on December 19, 1959; brothers, Donnie Cox, Jimmy Dale Cox, and James Edward “Ed” Cox; and sister, Linda Carol Cox Jones.
Surviving are his two daughters, Jennifer Ann Foster and husband Todd of Archdale and Crystal Lynn Ling and husband Mark of Thomasville; grandchildren, Marcus E. Ling, II, Cameron Tyler Ling, Abagail Grace Foster, Madison Renee Thomas and husband Dylan, and Emily Nicole Ling; great-grand-pup, Lemon; brothers, Lonnie Mac Cox and wife Mariette of Ellerbe and Leon Steve Cox of High Point; sister, Judy Ann Whitfield of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Michael Orman officiating. Interment with full military rites provided by the N.C. National Guard Honor Guard and the Davidson County Veteran’s Honor Guard will follow in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
