Born August 18, 1943, in Pulaski, VA to Raymond Arnold and Ida Ayers Arnold. Roberta went home to her beloved Savior on October 3, 2025 after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was a loving wife to Larry Franklin Pruitt. She was a loving mother to Timothy Fortune (Annette) of King, NC; Jerry Fortune (Cheryl) of King, NC; Theodore Fortune (Karen) of Hillsville, VA; Lisa Miller (Eric) of Mocksville, NC; Rodney Fortune (Tracy) of Rural Hall, NC; Robin Williams (Larry) of Winston Salem, NC; Rodney Pruitt (Amanda) of Miller Creek, NC and Ritch Pruitt (Kate) of Penacook, NH. She was a proud grandmother and often bragged about having 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  She is survived by her sisters, Marvene Brooks (Tommy) of Knoxville, TN, and Mary Shearer (Danny) of Melbourne FL. She is preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Arnold, and Wilson (Sonny) Arnold.

She was a devoted member of Vernon Forest Baptist Church of Winston Salem, NC. Before her Cancer diagnosis, she was active in the Senior Saints, Adult Women’s Bible Study, and their Bible Ministry.

The family is eternally grateful to the amazing care she received by Dr. Skinner and the amazing staff at Novant Health Cancer Institute.

The family will receive friends on October 7th, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Vernon Forest Baptist Church, 274 Mt. Vernon Church Rd, Winston Salem, NC 27107. The funeral will follow immediately after at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
