Roberta Faye Hale Stewart

Mrs. Roberta Faye Stewart, 88, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.  She was born on February 17, 1935 in Jefferson County, TN to James Arthur Hale and Vida Lovingood Hale.  She worked at Thomasville Furniture Industries and retired from Stroupe Mirror Company.  She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Praytor, Katy Gorman, Virginia Brown, and Shirley Yarborough.

Surviving are her two sons, Simon Junior Payne and Rickey Edward Payne, both of Thomasville; her two daughters, Linda Sue Todd and husband Billy of Denton and Teresa Kaye Taylor and husband Craig Gallimore of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Heather Ashby and husband Stephen, Heidi Key and husband Justin, Chris Payne, Pam Johnson and husband Lou, and Neil Payne and wife Elizabeth; 9 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Hurley, Jr. and Preacher Henry King officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mrs. Stewart will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.  The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm.  Memorials may be directed to Mt.
