Rocky Dwayne Turner, 64, a resident of Thomasville, passed away at High Point Hospital Sunday night, June 15, 2025. He was born April 15, 1961, in Ashe County to Robert Luther Turner and Melba Stuart Turner. Rocky was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Thomasville, where he sang in the choir, served as a deacon and was a children’s Sunday School teacher. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1983 to 1987, where he was stationed in the Mediterranean. Rocky worked 35 dedicated years for Axalta Mfg., formerly Valspar in High Point. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Rocky enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
Surviving is his loving wife, Ava House Turner of the home; his parents, Robert and Melba Turner of Trinity; his brother, Dale Turner and wife Cathy of Trinity; his sister, Barbara Williams of Trinity; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, on Monday evening, June 23, 2025, at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. The family will also greet friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Ashelawn Funeral Home 3470 US Hwy 221 North, West Jefferson, NC. A graveside service will follow in Blackburn Family Cemetery, North Fork New River Road, Lansing, NC, with full Military Honors. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
