Roger Lee Merritt

Mr. Roger Lee Merritt, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at his home after years of declining health.  He was born on February 16, 1950 in Forsyth County to the late Edgar William and Lucille Key Merritt.  Roger was a self-employed painter most of his working life.  A classic car enthusiast and lover of life.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Merritt; and two sisters, Virginia Nelson and Barbara Bullins.

Roger is survived by three sons, Jeff Merritt and wife Jennifer of Raleigh, Jerry Merritt of Winston-Salem, and Bradley Merritt and wife Jessica of Germanton; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025 at J.C. Green and Sons Wallburg Chapel with Rev. John Sealey officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 4:00 PM.
