Mr. Roger “Dale” Lewis, Jr., 54 of Thomasville passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026. Dale was born March 24, 1972 in Davidson County, NC to Roger Dale Lewis, Sr. and Juanita “Nita” Pearl Clark Lewis.
He was a 1990 graduate of East Davidson High School and worked at Thomas Built Buses, a division of Freightliner, with 33 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing slot machines, scratch off Lottery tickets, where he was a 2022 NC Education Lottery winner, and was a Jeff Gordon fan. Dale was very dependable, was always willing to lend a hand to anyone and lived by the motto, “CATCHIN’ A GOOD TIME.”
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Badger and Ruby Clark; and his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Hemphill.
Surviving are his four children, Jordan Lewis of Norwood, NC, McKenzie Lewis, Gracie Lewis and River Lewis, all of Thomasville; his parents, Roger and Juanita “Nita” Lewis of Thomasville; wife of 30 years and the mother of his children, Jerri Moose Lewis of Thomasville; his brother, who was his best friend and mentor, Chad Lewis and wife Krista of Thomasville; his three grandchildren, Easton Bennet, Emyrson Bennet, and Presley Fountain; his nephew, Daylan Lewis; and his niece, KayCee Lewis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Skipper and Rev. Fred Ashley officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will greet friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
