Mr. Ronald Jeffrey (Jeff) Cecil, 76, of High Point, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Spring Arbor of Thomasville. He was born on December 8, 1946 in Guilford County, NC to Ronald Jahue Cecil and Maxine Payne Cecil, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a US Army Reservist and he retired from Duke Power after 30 years of service and after retirement, he was a builder, farmer, and insurance salesman. He was a former Davidson County Commissioner, a member of Mt. Pleasant Church, the Jaycees and Kiwanis Club. He was active for many years with the Hasty Fire Department, where he served as Chief from 1981- 1985 and 1987 – 1994.
On February 18, 1968, he married Phyllis Ann Darr, who survives of the home; also surviving are his two sons, Scott Cecil and wife Resica of Lexington and Chad Cecil and wife Danielle of Raleigh; sister, Judy Murphy and husband Cleve of Thomasville; and granddaughters, Lauren E. Cecil, Teagan M. Cecil, and Ava C. Cecil.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Church with Pastor Chris Clontz officiating. Interment with Fireman Honors provided by the Hasty Fire Department will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Cecil will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
