Ronald "Ronnie" Davis, Sr. Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Boyd Davis, Sr., 82, of Thomasville passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Ronnie was born September 17, 1942 in Davidson County to the late James Claude Davis and Dorothy Westmoreland Davis. He was a member of Heath Church and was active in the Adult Sunday School class.  He worked many years in the furniture industry. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees and Washington Red Skins along with NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Trull and Sue Cranford; one brother, Richard Pewee Davis; one grandson, Andrew Davis. 
On January 23, 1965 he married wife Betty Jean Pope Davis, who survives of the home; also surviving are three sons, Ronald Davis, Jr and wife Maresa of Salisbury, Ricky Davis and wife Mandy, Robbie Davis and wife Susan all of Thomasville; one brother, Terry “Jimmy” Davis of Lexington; one sister, Judy Eppley of Thomasville; fourteen grandchildren, Shandalin Dearth and husband Darin of Salisbury, Aaron Davis and wife Meagen of Concord, Allen Davis and wife Katheryn of Lexington, MaKalah Davis and fiance' Travis of Salisbury, MaKenna Lee and husband Ryan of Rockwell, Skyler Davis and wife Charity of Mocksville, Bradley Davis and wife Brittany of Thomasville, Justin Davis of Thomasville, Garrett Davis of Archdale, Kiera Eudy of Concord, R.J. Davis of Thomasville, Jessica Davis of Thomasville, Branden Davis of Thomasville, Erick Davis and fiancé Madison of Thomasville; seventeen great-grandchildren and five honorary grandchildren. Also surviving are his adopted daughter and nurse, Diane Spangler of Thomasville; adopted son, Chris Kindley and wife Chelsia of Tyro.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Heath Church with Rev. Dan Downing and Rev. Mur DeJonge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
