Rosalind Marie Edmonds died peacefully on January 26, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Rosalind was born on September 2, 1945, to Lucille Corless Hale and James Channing Hale in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where her parents were working on the Manhattan Project. After World War II her parents moved to St. Albans, West Virginia and in 1953 to Paducah, Kentucky where Rosalind attended public schools graduating in 1963. She attended LSU and earned a BS in Mathematics in 1967. She then attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she was among the first one-half dozen women to be granted an MBA in 1969.
She was hired by IBM in 1969 where she worked for 30 years starting as a Systems Engineer in the Manhattan Financial Sales Branch. She became a manger in 1980, became a Certified Project Manager and performed many Project Management assignments. She worked in several locations including Dallas, Chicago, Northern California and retired in 1999 while working and living in Los Angeles.
After retiring, Rosalind volunteered for several non-profit organizations in California and Henderson, Nevada.
Rosalind is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Philip W. Edmonds, her son Christopher Chu of Singapore, his wife Rachel and her granddaughter Caroline Chu and her son Jonathan Chu of Falmouth, Massachusetts.
She was liked and admired by all she knew and will be sorely missed.
