Rose Lucille "Lucy" (Hancock) Huskins

Rose Lucille “Lucy” Hancock Huskins went home to Heaven on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. She was born on January 31, 1941, to the late Wade and Viola Hancock.  Lucy was married to Fred Jackson “Jack” Huskins who preceded her in death. 

Lucy is survived by her daughter Rachel (Phil) Huskins Ward; her son, Benny Mark (Donna) Huskins; her grandchildren, Lucas Ward, Allison (Jason) Ward Martin, Joshua Ward, Jake Huskins, Amber Huskins; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Annalynn Ward; two step-great grandchildren, Jason and Caelyn Martin; her sister, Lena Haru Beasley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Linda Huskins; brother-in-law, Ivey Thomas; many nieces and nephews.  

Lucy was a wonderful example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She worked at Thomasville Furniture for over 45 years. She faithfully served the Lord in the local church as a Sunday School teacher and sang in a gospel group.  Lucy was faithful to her church; her family and she lived her faith by her actions to all.  She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. 

Although her last years were filled with health issues, she persevered and exhibited her strength time and time again.  “She fought a good fight, she ran her race and she kept her faith.”

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Pallbearers will be Lucas Ward, Joshua Ward, Jake Huskins, Gabriel Ward, Jason Martin, and Kirk Fine. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM Friday.
