Ruby Grubb Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Ann Hunt Grubb, 78 of Lexington passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at GrayBrier Nursing Home and Rehab. Ruby was born September 3, 1942 to the late David Ralph Hunt and Ruby White Hunt in Guilford County. Ruby was a member of Gospel Light Independent Freewill Baptist Church. She worked many years as a sewer at Nantucket Hosiery in Asheboro. Ruby had a talent for singing gospel music and cooking her family good home cooked meals. Her precious grandbabies brought her great joy. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend; she will be greatly missed. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Wendell “Scott” Grubb.

 

Surviving is her loving husband, Darrell Franklin Grubb of the home; one son, Tom Grubb and wife Laura; two daughters, Pam Church and husband David, and Jeanine Stewart and husband Pete; three brothers, David Hunt and wife Pat, Donald Ray Hunt and wife Amy, Arthur Hunt; one sister, Betty Jane Alexander; seven grandchildren, Holly, Jeffery, Karissa, Morgan, Jimmy Darrell, Anthony, Joshua; and eleven great-grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. James Shetley, Rev. Henry King, and Rev. Mike Orman officiating. Ruby will lie in state at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Monday from 8:00 AM-6:00PM, and Tuesday until the hour of the service. No formal visitation will be held.
