Mr. Samuel Kenyon “Ken” Wilkerson, 89, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home. He was born on June 9, 1936 in Granville County, NC to Raymond Wilkerson and Mollie Grey Clark Wilkerson. He worked for 23 years in retail management with Roses Department Stores and also worked for Western Auto but was known for owning and operating Wilkerson Enterprises, where he was skillful in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and construction. He was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Velma Etna Heath Wilkerson on May 14, 2021; and his two sisters, Lauwana and Clora.
Surviving are his sons, Del Wilkerson of Thomasville, Dean Wilkerson (Annette) of Trinity, and Donn Wilkerson (Penny Myers) of Thomasville; his daughter, Terry Wilkerson Carter of Thomasville; his sister, Shirley May of Macon, GA; and his four grandchildren, T.J. Carter, TeNae Carter, Miley Myers, and Kase Myers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. A private family graveside inurnment will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Niche in Thomasville.
