Sandra "Sandy" Jean (Cox) New

Sandra “Sandy” Jean Cox New, 60, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at her home. She was born on June 29, 1961 in Danbury, NC to the late James Decater Cox and Annie Ruth Lawson Cox. Sandy had a love for cross-stitching and reading books. She was always known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Cox and brother, Billy Cox.

Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Charles Gilbert New of the home; one son, Jessie New (Crystal Wood) of Lexington; one daughter, Charlene Perez of Lexington; five grandchildren, Cameron, Darius, Alisha, Hailey, and Tyler; two sisters, Rita Brinkley (Doug) of Thomasville, and Martha Ali (Mir) of Trinity; one brother, James Cox (JoAnn) of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Annette; six nieces and nephews, Tanya (Ricky), Jimmy (Ava), Alan (Nicole), Crystal (Cory), Shawn, and Rehana; special friend, Rhonda; and Loving dog, Susie.  

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of the donor’s choice.
