Sandra "Sandy" Henrietta Dennis Wilson

Sandra (Sandy) Henrietta Dennis Wilson was called Home on Sunday November 19, 2023 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was 80 years old having just celebrated her birthday on November 9. Born in Brunswick County, NC to Charlie Calvin Dennis, Sr. and Ora Elizabeth Redwine Dennis, in 1943. She attended Waccamaw High School in Ash, NC and played basketball, one of her favorite passions, and her favorite team was NC State. After finding the love of her life and marrying him on March 5, 1960, she and her husband Frank moved to Thomasville, NC shortly thereafter in order to find work in the factory mills. She did various and sundry things such as working in their children's school cafeteria and driving a bus. Eventually though, she found her career in being a mail carrier for the Lexington Post Office in Lexington, NC, first a s a substitute in 1972 and then a s a full-time carrier from 1982 until retiring in 2005. That was her dream job, even as a little girl. She volunteered in many organizations but her favorite was the Pilot Lion's Club and Camp Dogwood for 25 plus years. She was a member of Fairview Church since 1973 and served in many roles there, attending many conferences at Lake Junalaska. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Franklyn (Frank) Jonas Wilson, Sr., parents Charlie Calvin Dennis, Sr., and Ola Elizabeth Redwine Dennis, and stepmother, Mabry Ward Dennis, and by big sister, Norma Nell (Big Nell) Redwine Harrelson, of Brunswick County. Her Grandparents William (Willie) Henry and Ora Malettie Milliken Redwine of Ash, Brunswick County and Charles Martin and Henrietta Morton Dennis of Albemarle, Stanley County, NC also predecease her. Survivors include her brothers: Charlie Calvin Dennis, Jr., Douglas Dennis (Pam), and Jeffery Dennis (Sheryl), all of NC. Sons, Franklyn (Hank) Wilson, Jr. (Peggy), Lansing, NC; Randall Wilson (Cindy) of Thomasville, NC; Billy Pullum (Debbie) of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren Franklyn (Trey) Wilson, Il (Lily) of St. Louis, MO; Angelique (Angela) Clewis (Matt) of Charlotte, NC; Jennifer Lewis of Thomasville, NC; Chase and Travis Pullum of Winston Salem, NC.; great grandchildren Lucas, Elisa, Sofie, Mary, Rose, John Paul, and Simon Wilson; Daniel and Jeremiah Lewis. Also surviving are special best friends, Joan Thompson and Gay Darr. She is also survived by numerous other nephews, nieces, and cousins. Honorary pallbearers are nephews, Pete and Doug Hewett, Jimmy and Jerry Etheridge, Donald and Merle Wilson, and Shean and Kerry Cumbee.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Church in Thomasville with Jeff Stone officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville-122 W. Main Street Thomasville, NC 27360.
