Sara Neal (Beeson) Lewallen

Sara Beeson Lewallen, 87, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025, at Pennybyrn at Maryfield Retirement Community in High Point.  She was born in Forsyth County, on October 16, 1937 to the late Ira Beeson Sr. and Iris Matthews Beeson.  Sara was preceded in death by five brothers, Ira, Jack, Wade, Charles and Joe Beeson and a sister, Linda Beeson Silva.  

On December 18, 1954, Sara was married to Billy J. Lewallen and they enjoyed 55 years as husband and wife before he passed away in January of 2010. 

Sara is survived by her two sons, David Lewallen, Sr. and wife Harriet of Trinity and Jeff Lewallen and wife Lisa of Greensboro; six grandchildren, David Lewallen, Jr. (Tiffany), Keri Lewallen (Joel), Shannon Colvin (Ryan), Leah Ryan (Marc), affectionately known to her and Bill as “Leah Girl”, Charles Beeson, Jr. (Michelle) and Mac Beeson (Julie); great-grandchildren, Sophie Hughes, Enoch Hughes, Andrew Beeson, Stella Ryan, Miles Ryan, Ryan Beeson, Jacob Beeson, Boggs Colvin. 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Dr. Andy Royals officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
