Sara Ann (King) Rorex

Sara King Rorex, 96, of Thomasville went home to be with the Lord, Friday September 26, 2025.  Sara was born September 25, 1929 in Bridgeport, Alabama to the late James Harold King and Stella Haire King.  Sara married Robert W. Rorex in 1947 and moved to Thomasville, NC.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rorex; her daughter, Jenette (Richard) Hartmann; her grandson, Stevie Ray Mitchell; her great-grandson Landis Mitchell; and four brothers, Billy (Ruby) King, Jesse (Gladys) King, Jimmy (Pat) King and Ernest (Barbara) King.

Sara is survived by a son, Wayne (Martha) Rorex; a daughter, Lynn Kinley; two sisters, Louise (Bill) Hicks, Martha (Tommy) Beane; three grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Rorex, Kristy (Heyward) Duffy, Toby Scarce; four great-grandchildren, Eli Woodruff, John Robert Duffy, Slater Mitchell, Tanner Mitchell; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Hughes.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Dale King officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
