Mrs. Shelby Sizemore Gallimore, 88, of Thomasville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 31, 2025 at her home. Shelby was born September 3, 1937 in Davidson County to the late Elmer L. Sizemore and Corene Myers Sizemore. She was a member of Rich Fork Church, which she loved dearly. She was a 1955 graduate of Pilot High School. She was a member of the Varsity basketball team, and was a very accomplished player. For the last 60 years she has served as the secretary for the Pilot School class of 1955. Shelby worked alongside her husband for numerous years as the bookkeeper for Gallimore Plumbing and Hardware. Her greatest joy in life was the time and memories made with her beloved family. She was a beloved wife, mom, mammaw and friend. She will be greatly missed. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, James “Jimmy” Lee Gallimore on August 22, 2024; two sisters, Hazel Sizemore and Evelyn Hedrick.
Surviving is her loving husband of 68 years, Harold Gallimore of the home; daughter, Lisa Gallimore Grove (Brad Fouts) of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Daniel and wife Jacquelyn and Emilee and husband Jesse; eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews and their wives. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Stabe and Stephanie Tate for the care and love they provided as remarkable caregivers.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Lee Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
