Mrs. Shelby Jean Johnson, 72, a resident of Trinity, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. She was born on February 19, 1948 in Horry Co., South Carolina to the late Butler Turner and Anna Martin Turner. Shelby worked many years at Thomasville Furniture Industries and had a love for flowers, cooking for friends and family, and helping other people. She was a loving and faithful wife and sister. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Doris Hammonds and Sally Pearl Edwards; and one brother, Horace Turner.
Surviving is her husband, Butch Johnson of the home; two sisters, Mae Cardwell of Thomasville, and Willie Mae Willard and husband Larry of Thomasville; and three brothers, Marshall Turner, Archie Turner and wife Joann, and Carl Turner, all of Thomasville.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. There will be a private burial at Forsyth Memorial Park Cemetery in Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
