Shelia Rice Smith

Shelia Diane Rice Smith, 76, of Thomasville passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Thomasville Medical Center.

Shelia was born October 7, 1947 to the late Garnett Rice, Sr. and Virginia Venable Rice in Davidson County. She retired from the accounting department at Thomasville Furniture. Shelia was a former member of Park Place Baptist Church and most recently attended Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville.

In addition to her parents, Shelia was preceded in death by her brother, Garnett Rice, Jr; her former husband, Jerry Smith; infant twin children, Terri and Jerry Smith

Surviving are her three loving children, Teresa McGuire Bice and husband Raymond of High Point, Tracy McGuire and wife Amanda of Sumter, SC, Heather Beck and husband Ryan of Thomasville; brother, Greg Rice and wife Sandi of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Chaison McGuire, Leith McGuire, Cody Bice, Hunter Austin, Jacob Austin, Kyarra Beck, Addison Beck, Leam McGuire; two great-grandchildren, Ivy McGuire, Olivia McGuire; several extended family members; special niece, Rev. Lisa Johnston.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating.
