Mrs. Sherri Lynn Whitman, 60, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Atrium Health Lexington Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. Sherri was born in High Point, NC on October 31, 1963 to the late Jerry Lynn Bishop and Brenda McCoy Bishop. Sherri married her soulmate and love of her life Tim on Sept 18, 2011. Tim has been her strength and rock through this courageous battle. Their love for one another was truly unconditional and anyone around could see the special bond and love they had for one another. Sherri and Tim enjoyed many trips to the beach together. Sherri loved to fish and if you fished with Sherri, you knew quickly why she was given the nickname “Fish Pig”. She was always catching all the fish while everyone else was waiting for a bite. Sherri was a homemaker. She turned their house into a warm and loving home and welcomed everyone who entered. She had a special love for her grandchildren. They were so special to her and you would always find one of the grandkids with Sherri and Tim. Her love will always live on in our hearts and will forever be missed.
Sherri is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lynn Bishop and her beloved son, Jeffrey Kevin Beck. Surviving is her mother, Brenda McCoy Bishop of Trinity; loving husband, William “Tim” Whitman of the home; daughter, Shannon Beck of Thomasville; brother, Michael Bishop of Trinity; six grandchildren Jeffrey Lee Beck, Leighton Green, Rossilyn Beck, Zaxton Everhart, Zaiden Everhart, and Kailani Everhart
