Shirley Rollins Miller, 89, of Thomasville passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Atrium Health High Point Medical Center. Shirley was born September 27, 1936 in Wake County to the late Leamon Rollins and Bessie Lee Rollins. Shirley attended First Baptist Church of Thomasville and Emerywood Baptist Church until her health began to decline. In her earlier years, she worked as a Lab Tech, later she began working for Thomasville City Schools, from which she retired after 27 years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed to travel, especially cruises. Through the years she loved to nurture and raise many cats. Shirley will be greatly missed. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Wilder; one sister, Willa Long; and one brother-in-law, Bob Broadwell.
Surviving is her loving husband of 21 years, Charles “Chuck” Miller of the home; one brother, William Rollins and wife Jane; one sister, Jane Broadwell; her dear friend and caregiver, Mary Lynn Morris. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Homeboy.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
