Mrs. Shirley Gardner Soles, 68, a resident of Old Highway 64, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the High Point Medical Center. She was born on July 22, 1951 to the late Lockie Gardner Henson in Spruce Pine, NC. Shirley was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Denton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who had a passion for making people happy and spending time with her family. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lee Soles.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Danny Soles of the home; one daughter, Brittany LeAnn Soles King and husband Clint of Denton; daughter-in-law, Mistie Soles; one brother, Larry Dean Gardner and special sister-in-law, Christine of Lexington; three sisters, Nina Sue Abernathy of Thomasville, Elizabeth Jean Overby and husband Wayne of Lexington, and Mary Ellen Equils and husband Les of Lexington; three grandchildren, Natalie Soles, Zander Floyd, and Bryson Soles; special niece, Angela Spears; special nephew, Anthony Boggs; best friends, Carol Kendrick and Janice Brown; and many other nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Denton on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Hardy and Rev. Daniel Hosler officiating. Mrs. Soles will lie in state at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from the hours of 3:00 to 7:00 PM for anyone to come by and pay their respects. Burial will be held at Community Baptist Church in Silver Valley.
