Shirley Jean (Johnson) West

Mrs. Shirley Jean Johnson West, 70, of Thomasville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital.  She was born on August 14, 1949 in Jefferson County, Tennessee a daughter of Enos and Frances Wilford Johnson. Shirley was a member of Woodland Baptist Church where she was secretary of the Auditorium Class.  She enjoyed sewing, baking, catering weddings, and practicing hairdressing. Shirley loved her work of substitute teaching with the Davidson County School System where she served for forty years. She was preceded in death by her father.

Surviving is her husband, Robert Zane West, Sr. of the home; mother, Frances Johnson of Sevierville, TN.; children, Angie Wilson and husband Philip of Thomasville and Bobby West and wife Faith of Kernersville; sister, Pamela F. Johnson of Sevierville, TN.; brothers, Roger L. Johnson and wife Martha of Trinity and William T. Johnson of Sevierville, TN.; and grandchildren, Andrew Wilson, Daniel West, and Hannah Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Wallburg with the Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Zion United Church of Christ cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to the West family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
