Shirley Anne Nifong Yountz

Mrs. Shirley Anne Nifong Yountz, 83, of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington.  She was born on November 8, 1942 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to Ray Alexander Nifong and Thelma Evoyn Goodman Nifong.  She worked the majority of her life as a sewer in the textile industry at Kayby Mills and later retired in 2020 at the age of 78 from Radians, Inc. in Thomasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Nifong, Johnny Nifong, and Billy (Bill) Nifong; and her granddaughter, Megan.

Surviving are her daughters, Ronda Yountz Fania and husband Steve of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cindy Yountz Cain of Oak Island, NC, and Tonya Yountz Stilley and husband John of Thomasville; her sisters, Irene Parkins and husband Joe of High Point, Carol Parks of Thomasville, and Virginia Parrish of Thomasville; her brother, Harold Nifong of Thomasville; grandchildren, Leslie, Ashley, Travis, Logan, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Talon, Cade, Morgan, Lillian, Mitchell, Paxton, Graham, and Elsie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Steve Manley officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
