Stella Ivey Cranford Obituary

Mrs. Stella Mae Shore Ivey Cranford, 91 a resident of Davidson County passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Forsyth County on May 21, 1931, a daughter to the late Gordon Hampton Shore and Etta Mae Viola Finney. Stella was a faithful member of Thomasville Church of God and loved her church family. She was a strong believer in God and his forever love. Her faith never wavered in her Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love was endless when it came to her family. Stella married Ed Ivey and had five beautiful children and a wonderful marriage until his untimely death in 1998. She then fell in love with and married C.R. Cranford. They were blessed to have almost 20 years together. Stella was a caring person and if you ever came for a visit, you would surely leave with a gift. This came straight from her heart. Her love for her children, husband and God was truly remarkable. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ed Ivey, grandchildren, Christy, Dusty and Cindy; step-children, Sherry Cranford Bivens and Randy Dale Cranford. Stella was one of 12 children and she was also preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Surviving is her husband, C.R. Cranford of the home; daughters; Kathy Fowler and husband Jay, Judy Stone all of Thomasville and Debbie Jarrett and husband Mickey of Silver Valley; sons, Donnie Ivey and wife Grace of Thomasville and Mark Ivey and wife Cheryl of West Jefferson; adopted daughter, Karen Newsom and husband Donnie; brother, Robert Shore Sr. and wife Barbara; step-children, Pam Ray and husband Clinton and Karen "DeeDee" Green and husband Robert. She was the matriarch of a very large loving family and leaves behind 11 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren and several extended family members and friends.

 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Thomasville Church of God with Rev. Alan Greene and Rev. Avon Craven officiating. The family will greet friends at the church starting at 12:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Stella will remain at J C Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until 3 hours prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stella’s memory to Hospice of Davidson County. The family would like to recognize the amazing care and support Stella received from Hospice during this difficult time.
