Mr. Stephen Albert Durkett, Jr., age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 30., 2025 at his home. He was born on September 23, 1945 in Danville, Illinois to the late Stephen and Betty Ruggles Durkett. Sr. Steve had retired from Siemens Technology after many years as a metallurgist. He was always involved in civic duties and community activities. During his time in Claymont, Delaware he assisted the state police in juvenile delinquency.
Surviving of the home is his wife of 59 years, Carol Delles Durkett; two daughters, Christine Wyman (Paul) of Mooresville, and Stacey Durkett of Ocean View, Delaware; brother, Larry Bennett (Durie) of Galien, Michigan; and grandson, Cole Wyman.
