Steven Terris Simmons

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Steven Terris Simmons of Lexington who went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his residence.

Steven was born October 16, 1980 to Donna Lynn Owen Moss in Guilford County. He was a hard worker and made his living doing construction for most of his adult life. Steven attended New Heights Baptist Church in Trinity as a young man. He loved working hard, fishing, beach trips, and quality time with his family. Steven will be greatly missed.

In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his step-father who he claimed as his own, William “Bill” Charles Moss; his sister, Tabitha McHenry.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Donna Owen Moss; his maternal grandfather, David Owen; two daughters, Shania Trotter and Chloe Simmons; two grandsons; four sisters, Tonya Simmons, Sheena Cook (Todd), Chasity Lilly (Tracey), Penny Wallace; many nieces and nephews; special aunts and uncles, Billy Owen (Teresa), David Owen (Stephanie), J.C. Owen (Jim), Larry Owen (Shannon), Sue Reynolds, Bobby Moss; many beloved cousins and extended family members.

A private funeral service and burial will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to help with final expenses to his sister, Sheena Cook.
