Susan Ann (Petree) Brown

Mrs. Susan Petree Brown, 85 of the Wallburg Community went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 12, 2021 unexpectedly at her home.  She was born on December 17, 1935 in Forsyth County a daughter of the late Julius and Elsie Thompson Petree. Known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as ‘Nana’ she was an avid Owl figurine collector, worked with ceramics, and collected Christmas ornaments.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in High Point.  Susan was a homemaker and caregiver to all of her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Ellis and a niece, Peggy Tucker.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, George Brown of the home; three daughters, Pam Tuttle and husband Gary of Walkertown, Annette Roddy of Kernersville, and Tina Denny and husband Mickey of Wallburg; sister, Ina Shouse of Davie County; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; special friends & family, Sandy Leamon, nephew, Steve Tucker, and Sheena & Michael Knight; and canine companions, Angel, Gabby, and Holly.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Wallburg with Pastor, Casey Bradford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Pkwy., Rural Hall, NC.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem, NC and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 900 S.
